Region V Championship Regatta
July 15-16,2017

Jonathan and Anna Gorbold (QUESTAR #1226) , just home from winning 4 races in the Atlantic Coast Ensign Championship, continued their winning ways by placing placing first in 6 of the 7 Region V races. They were followed by Event Chairman Brad Emery and Carol Scuro in 2nd place who were sailing their daughter's boat (Mutual Fun #  ). All three top spots were won by husband-wife teams as Steve and Wendi Heinzelman (Elmo #612) clinched third place.

Past Commodore, Joel Ver Plank (The Green Dolphin #583), who came up from Alabama to race,  placed 4th . Defending Region V Champion Bob Conkey from Cleveland (Sleuth #1219) finished 5th.

Ten boats competed overall and the weather provided fine sailing conditions. In addition to the fun at the evening social , Bob
Conkey  regaled us with a trip through his 53 foot tour bus which is a real eye catcher, especially when towing an Ensign !
