Floor and seat replacement options
Author Last Post
Hi All !!

I went through my Ensign photos and found these pics of the new composite floors and seats. I believe these pics were from the Ensign Spars workshop when Zeke or Chad owned the business. In checking the Ensign Spars web site, it looks like the seats are currently sold out but the floors are available.  https://ensignspars.com

Hope this helps,

Does anyone have pictures of the Ensign Spars fiberglass seats / floor that can be shared?

I am still looking for input on re-doing my floors and seats....any feedback would be appreciated.

Sorry I misread the request. lol

Hello. I am looking for insight on replacing the Starbrite flooring and seats the prior owner put in Ensign 1478 that I now own. I recently discovered the material is extremely heavy compared to wood seats and flooring. Though the current floor and seats are low maintenance they are made from 3/4" Starbrite (think cutting board) w wood slats on top. Anyone wanting a small cutting board after this project I will have plenty....just let me know.

I am looking at my options, either, going back to wood, using Coosa board and or Nidacore Structural Fiberglass laminated paneling. Anyone have any other ideas that would be lighter weight, and low maintenance? I know Ensign spars offers fiberglass floor inserts as well. It is my understanding the boats weighed 3300# the last time it was weighed so getting closer to minimum weight is my goal.

Also, at some future point I am planning to rebuild the front bunks at some point since the original plywood is rotten in a few spots.

Thanks!

Jeff
