Looking for sailing glove recommendations. The older leather gloves I have used for year and years are fading into disrepair. Looking for a new set.

What are folks using these days? What gloves do you like and how would you describe the benefits of the ones you have?

I have used Gill Championship short fingered gloves for years. (https://www.gillmarine.com/championship-gloves-s-f/?sku=7243BM) and am happy with them. The same gloves are available in full finger, but I found I didn't like that style.

One year I bought a sailing-store-brand and they didn't last nearly as well.

They last 2-3 years for me (sailing June through end of September), and can be stretched a bit longer, though they start to be kind of ratty. I've not used the ones your friend suggested, so can't speak to that, but Gill gloves do stay comfortable and pliable for me. A couple times a season, I wash them out in the sink with Woolite and hang to dry. I never put them in my sail bag, but rather loop them over the handles of my bag.
