Asymmetrical Spinnaker on an Ensign
Author Last Post

Very nice! There is a new boat by Tartan -the Caraluna / Tartan 245 - that was commissioned by Kai Swedsen a long time Ensign sailor. Kai had the designer incorporate many features of the Ensign into this new boat. They did an asym much like you have. It’s a very cool boat.

My Asymmetrical works great singlehanded.  I have not felt the need for a sprit.  Definitely need a window in the sail near tack, though.

Impressive!

You don’t see this every day!   I bought Ensign 1637 at the beginning of the season and flew its asymmetrical spinnaker singlehanded assisted by an ATN sock.   I will be experimenting with a sprit next season and hope I don’t get confused with a J 70.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Jody,

An oversized spinnaker pole lashed horizontally to the deck, sticking out past the bow by a couple of feet might be just the thing.

Looking good!
