It's common for Ensigns moored on Lake Pontchartrain to attract mud daubers - docile wasps that fly when you pull off the cockpit cover. More recently my boat has attracted yellow jackets, which respond en masse with virulent attacks. I'm also sensitive their sting - each incident means rapid swelling at the site of a sting and a dash to get a shot of epinephrine. Does anyone have a recommendation for how to prevent them from nesting under the cockpit cover? Thanks!
