Thank you everyone for your feedback. I ended up buying to new cars/blocks from Vela Sailing Supply. They will be here tomorrow, just in time for me to launch her for the remainder of the season here in CO.

Yes, the Jib block and car.

Had the same issue when I purchased my Ensign. I took a picture of it with a ruler next to it for size as well as the car and sent it to Ensign Spars.  The quoted two prices, one for a used Harken and one for a new Schaffer.  Purchased the Harken 6 years ago and it both fits and works like a charm. Personally I wouldn’t purchase a specialty item like this on ebay, though I’m the belt and suspenders type of guy.

Good luck.

I had to replace mine when the plastic sheave deteriorated. Found it was easier just to buy the whole thing new.  Measure the track to get the right fit. West Marine should have what you need.

I have just redone 1658, replacing all hardware. The Harken catalog was invaluable. It used to have an Ensign specific set of pages.

I have a couple of jib sheet cars and blocks that you can have for a song. Not sure about about the size of the track, which, BTW is not called a traveler. A traveler is a control line car. The track is called simply the jib sheet track. The pieces you are looking for are called a spring loaded standing block and jib sheet car.

Good luck. Let me know if you want my old set, which is in good mechanical condition.

I believe your photo shows two parts, the block and the car. Your thumb is hiding the shackle and pin that come with the block and which attach the block to the car.

You only need a new block. I have had good luck with a Harken 57 MM air block for this application.

Okay, I’m sure this has been addressed before but for some reason (probably because I using the incorrect nomenclature) I can’t find it when I do a search. The attached picture shows a genoa sheet block that is in a traveler. I currently have one block but am missing the other. How do I measure to look for another online? I’m assuming eBay is going to be my best place to find one. I’m not opposed to getting two, but they would obviously need to fit my current t-track. I believe it’s a 25mm. Thoughts?
