1st time mast stepped / forestay
Author Last Post
Brian - my headstay measures 25'-7" from top eye to hole in lower stud for turnbuckle.  I needed a short clevis to make the overall length 26'-3" from eye to eye.

Ensign Rules Part II., 6.A.
"The official length of the Ensign forestay from eye center to eye center including turnbuckle, toggle(s) and any stretch when turnbuckle is pinned in its maximum extended position shall be no greater than 26' 3-3/4". The lengths of the other standing rigging are eliminated from the class rules."

HALF CAT  sail 1588 With the mast down I found that the forestay needs to be replaced. The mast appears to have been repaired at some time, it measures masthead to bottom, 31 ft 8 5/8. The forestay top center pin to bottom of thread 25 ft 7 1/8. I have photos if needed.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
Thanks

Brian,

You seem to be suggesting that your mast may not be the standard length. However, the mast assembly blueprint available on the ECA website gives the length of the mast as 31 feet, 8 inches from the bottom to the top of the extrusion, right under the mast cap.

I don't have the length of the original forestay, but Ensign Spars should have a proper replacement.
