Hello ECA Members – My name is Mitch Kayden and I am the new owner of Easy Street that has been sailing out of the Nyack Boat Club for many years. I look forward to learning about the Ensign class and giving the tender loving care that she will need. Since I am fairly new to sailing as well (7 years), I can use some advice from time to time.
The first project is fixing the rub rail job around the bow that the previous owner did. The rub rail is going over the bow stem head and because of that it is loose from the flange in that area. I have the end caps and have taken a look at other Ensigns in the yard but would like advise for the best way to cut the rub rail and do this properly. I think the rub rail is secure along the rest of the boat but I am going to confirm this over the weekend.
I am attaching a few images of what I'm dealing with. Thanks in advance
